    Description

    At 6 A.M. on December 7, 1941 Japanese planes attacked Pearl Harbor. Just months later, the U.S. released a special series of paper money for exclusive use in Hawaii and the Pacific. Officials feared the Japanese would invade the islands and this special currency would become worthless if it fell into enemy hands.
