    Description

    Here is a lovely
    GAUDY IRONSTONE PLATE
    in the pattern
    HALF RIPE STRAWBERRY.
    It is from a Berks County, PA estate sale.
    The diameter is just under 10 inches. It is unmarked
    and dates to around 1850. There are no chips or cracks.
    There are flaws that occurred during firing. The surface
    on the front has little "dimples" and a couple of blisters
    that have burst. The back has areas that feel like grit.
    The back also does not have the blue bleeding through.
    All of this can be seen if you enlarge the pictures.
    The colors and luster are still quite strong.
    This plate still displays well and would be q good
    addition to a Gaudy Ironstone collection.
